About Head Start
Head Start is a Federal program that promotes the school readiness of children for low-income families providing a learning environment that supports children’s growth in many areas such as language, literacy, physical, social and emotional development.
Education
We focus on providing an educational environment that helps children become school ready. At Head Start, children develop skills to problem-solve and share. An emphasis is also placed on language, literacy, math, science, and physical development.
Parent Involvement
Parents are welcomed to volunteer in the classroom, assist on field trips, and participate on Policy Council and Center Committees.
health
We ensure that children are on schedule of age appropriate health care including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and mental health care. The Health Services team is able to connect families with local doctors, screen children for health concerns, and inform families of resources in the community.
Nutrition
Our Registered Dietician makes sure that all meals we serve are promoting healthy children. Snacks and hot meals are provided daily.
CHILD, FAMILY, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
Our program offers parents the opportunity to set and achieve individual and family goals. Wether your family goals are getting a better job, improving a housing situation, learning how to budget, or making other positive changes. Head Start will support and connect families to community resources.
